For homeowners
You have a solar system with Victron equipment and want to use the surplus at home. A technician installs the box, connects your appliances and sets the priorities.
Installation and priceEnergostatby JETPARTNER
Energostat is a small box for your solar system. When the panels produce more than the house uses, it sends the surplus to your car, water heater, pool or heat pump.

Developed and installed by JETPARTNER.
What Energostat is doing nowThe sun's out and there's energy to spare. I'm sending it to the car and water heater.
Why
For power exported at midday you get only a fraction of what you pay for grid electricity in the evening. Off-grid, the surplus is wasted altogether. Energostat sends it where you can use it at home.
How it works
The box is connected to your Victron equipment. It always knows how much the panels are producing, how much the house is drawing and how full the battery is.
It picks the appliance that gets the surplus according to your priorities, while keeping an eye on the battery reserve and the main breaker.
It charges the car smoothly, adding and trimming power with the sun. The water heater, pool and heat pump are switched via contactors.
What it controls
Adjusts the charging current smoothly to match the surplus. It can also charge to a target, say 80% by 7:00.
Switched on via a contactor when there's enough surplus. It heats water with energy that would otherwise flow away.
Filtration and heating are switched on via a contactor when there's energy to spare.
Started via a contactor when there's enough sun.
We connect them via a contactor. Each appliance has its own priority.
Safeguards
The home battery keeps a reserve for the night, 30% by default. Below it, appliances are never powered from the battery.
It watches every phase. Switch on the oven and it cuts back, then raises the power again once you've finished cooking.
Control runs in the box in your home. If the internet goes down, it keeps working. If it has no data from the inverter, it stops.
App
If the surplus grows, I'll switch on the pool.

Opportunity Loads is a new, free feature of the Victron system and may be enough for simpler installations. Energostat can also charge your car by a time you set, say 80% by 7:00. Opportunity Loads can't do that. It also watches the main breaker and every phase, switches appliances via contactors and makes its decisions on site, without the internet. Installation and servicing come from one company.
No. The home battery keeps a reserve for the night, 30% by default. Below it, Energostat doesn't power appliances from the battery.
Energostat watches the breaker and every phase. It reduces the power going to appliances so nothing is overloaded, then raises it again once they're off.
Not for control. The box in your home makes the decisions. If it has no data from the inverter, it stops, to be on the safe side.
Yes. The app always shows the reason. For example, there isn't enough sun, the home battery isn't charged enough yet, or the car is already full.
Yes. Set a target, say 80% by 7:00, and Energostat uses solar power until the last moment. It tops up the shortfall another way. Or choose Full mode.
